About... Ruth Edenbaum
Ruth Edenbaum was born in New York City and raised on Long Island. She
and her husband, Martin, raised three sons and a daughter to be delightful
adults as well as dedicated foodies and Italophiles.
For several years she wrote a food column called Eats of Eden.
She has also taught cooking in the West Windsor Plainsboro Community
Education programs to pupils who ranged in age from 5 to 85.
She started traveling to Italy in the middle 1970's. Ever since her first
trip, she has dedicated a portion of her energies to finding ways of returning
there as often as possible. She divides her time between central New Jersey
and Venice which she considers a second home. In 2003, she combined her
love of Venice with her knowledge of food and cooking and wrote Chow!
Venice with Shannon Essa. Now she is sharing her love of
Italy and Venice in another way - through her photographs.
A frequent exhibitor at local juried art shows, Ruth Edenbaum has also
had her photographs of food published in the Trenton Times.
The front and back covers of Chow! Venice feature
several examples of her work. More photographs are available on the Chowbellabooks
website, and now, for the first time, they are available to the public
through this site.
