| La Primavera Venice in spring is truly a city of flowers from the window boxes spilling over with every imaginable color and type of flower to the pink and cream roses splayed against old brick wall, the fat stone pots of pansies and petunias and the long tidy rows of geraniums, the red roses carried by men to the women they love on Feast of San Marco, the flowered umbrellas blooming in the spring rain, the fat zucchini blossoms waiting to be stuffed, the hanging baskets of blossoms along the Grand Canal, the tiny spray of pure white flowers with infinitesimal dark green leaves that found its way to day light through a crevice in a rock and most of all the wisteria drooping as lush and heavy as grapes in our court yard and over walls along the canal. |
